While I'm certainly not planning for this blog to be a diary recap of every day in my life, I do intend on recapping weekends, trips, and random days because those are some of my favorite blog posts to read by others AND I think it's fun to show how life changes day in and day out.
That said, this was one of the least exciting weekends in a while thanks to the downpour we had in Baltimore from Friday - Sunday. It definitely forced me to slow down a little bit but I am missing sunshine and warmer temperatures now more than ever.
Friday night I went to Corepower and came home to eat dinner and watch the Olympics opening ceremony. It was a long week at work and all I wanted to do was sweat on my mat and go home and relax. We worked on chin stand (my favorite!) and the message of the class really spoke to me. It's crazy how yoga can change your perspective on life in such a short amount of time.
Saturday morning we woke up and while Nick walked Bentley, I made breakfast. I'm still having a moment with these PB&J oats and promise I'll share the recipe soon. I've been eating them almost every morning for the last few months.
I went to the gym with the intention to run six miles but ended up only being able to get five in before hot yoga.
And then bounced straight from the gym to my yoga studio. My teacher Angela was in California last week so it was so nice to have her back. Her Saturday morning classes are always the perfect combination of challenging and relaxing. Angela is so real and down to earth and one of those teachers that I really click with.
After yoga, I swung by my favorite local juice store, Pure Raw, for my go-to matcha mango bowl. I think I've officially made it because when I walked in, the guy at the counter said, "Hey Claire! The usual?". Yup.
This baby is loaded with matcha, mango, almond milk, banana and topped with cacao nibs, coconut, granola, blueberries and almond butter. So good and refreshing after a hot yoga class.
I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the house and working on the blog! It was rainy and cold so I didn't have much motivation to leave aside from a quick Starbucks & Target run.
Saturday night I made dinner for us. We had a TON of random veggies that needed to be used so I roasted up some purple potatoes and brussels sprouts for me to eat along with a veggie burger and made quinoa-stuffed peppers for Nick. Then we spent the rest of the night watching Fixer Upper and researching for our Italy trip!
Sunday morning I woke up and went to a special class at my yoga studio. My two favorite teachers, Angela and Jenna, taught a C3 inversion class and it was such a fun way to start the day.
The rest of the day was pretty standard: grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc. I did swing by the gym to walk for a while because being trapped inside was making me feel a little stir crazy and I just needed to get out and moving.
And now it's Monday and time to get back to work!
